About the charities:

Kidney Care UK

Kidney Care UK, formerly the British Kidney Patient Association, is the UK's leading kidney patient support charity.

They have been at the cutting edge of supporting people with kidney disease for over 40 years, improving quality of life, funding vital posts within our Health Service, making small grants to enable kidney patients to make ends meet or go on desperately needed holidays, and fighting for the rights of patients in the corridors of power.

In Northern Ireland they have their first Charity Ambassador in Jo-Anne Dobson and a dedicated Advocacy Officer in William Johnson. Both have a deeply personal link with organ donation being a donor and recipient respectfully and work directly with patients to provide support services to improve the practical and emotional support they provide to those with kidney disease.

Your generosity will allow them to continue to invest over £2.2 million in patient support, over 1,350 individual patient grants and over £120,000 in ground-breaking patient centred research. Your support is fundamental to all that they do and in making sure they will be able to keep doing all they can to improve the quality of life for kidney patients and their loved ones.

Friends of the Cancer Centre

Friends of the Cancer Centre has a long and proud history of helping local cancer patients across Northern Ireland for over 30 years.

Based at the heart of the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, the charity funds life-saving and life-changing projects that make a real and lasting difference to the lives of thousands of local people affected by cancer and in the last year alone, Friends of the Cancer Centre has put £1.2 million back into local cancer services
