The Role:
- To effectively prepare jobs ranging from limited accounts, management accounts, sole trade and partnership;
- To carry out initial drafting of tax computations for both corporate and personal clients;
- To ensure that work is planned in advance and in accordance with processes so that deadlines may be met e.g. statutory filing of abbreviated accounts, corporation tax returns, annual returns, self-assessment statutory returns and client driven returns;
- To advise clients on various ad hoc queries / issues, including referrals for support from Tax via the tax ticket system;
- Develop positive relationships with clients by delivering high-quality service, ensuring effective progression of assignments and tasks and maintaining regular communication, including site visits and attending client meetings;
- Establish clear understanding of client’s context and needs. Maintain regular communication through site visits and attendance at client meetings;
- Focus on finishing and delivering within a reasonable time; only urgent work is treated as urgent; work is actively managed so that pace can be maintained and progress does not stall.
- Develop strategies to manage workload efficiently and handle urgent tasks, while progressing current workflow.
- More focus on job briefs and reviews rather than job preparation.
- Attending meetings with clients to develop an understanding of their business processes.
- Proactively seeking to continuously improve the services we provide to clients, including where appropriate making suggestions and bringing ideas to attention of Manager or Partner.
The Criteria:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant CAI/ACA or equivalent
- Experience in an accountancy practice for a minimum of 3 years
- At least 1 years PQE desired
- Strong IT skills
- High level of ICT Literacy including knowledge of relevant accounting software
- Excellent Analytical Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
